Bohdan Zynoviy Mykhailovych Khmelnytsky (Богдан Зиновій Михайлович Хмельницький, c. 1595, Subotiv, near Chyhyryn, Crown of the Kingdom of Poland, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth - 6 August 1657), was the Hetman of the Zaporozhian Host of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (now part of Ukraine). He led an uprising against the Commonwealth and its magnates (1648-1654) which resulted in the creation of a Cossack state. In 1654, he concluded the Treaty of Pereyaslav with the Tsardom of Russia.

The ornament is on background.

Top left - a small coat of arms of Ukraine.

The state coat of arms of Ukraine (Державний Герб України) or commonly the Tryzub (Тризуб, "trident") is the national coat of arms of Ukraine, featuring the same colors found on the Ukrainian flag, a blue shield with a gold trident. It represents the triune God on earth and in heaven.

Denominations in numerals are in three corners, in words vertically right.

Comments:

There was a mistake made by printing of this banknote before 2001.

The inscription in Ukrainian (on reverse) was saying: "Церква в селі Суботів".

After 2001 it was corrected and inscription became as: "Церква в селі Суботові".
