Jens Juel (12 May 1745 - 27 December 1802) was a Danish painter, primarily known for his many portraits, of which the largest collection is on display at Frederiksborg Castle. The painter Jens Juel represents something close to the high point of Danish portrait painting of the 18th century. He is buried at Assistens Cemetery in Copenhagen.

The engraving for watermark was made after this portrait of Jens Juel.

Det rybergske familiebilledeThe portrait of Engelke Charlotte Ryberg, née Falbe, is a detail from the Ryberg family portrait, showing the merchant Niels Ryberg with his son and daughter-in-law in front of Frederikshave (now Hagenskov) manor on the island of Funen. The picture was painted in 1797 by Jens Juel (1745-1802). The original is the property of the National Gallery of Denmark, in Copenhagen.

The crucian carp (Carassius carassius) is a medium-sized member of the common carp family Cyprinidae. It occurs widely in northern European regions.
