During World War II in the Philippines, the occupying Japanese government-issued fiat currency in several denominations; this is known as the Japanese government-issued Philippine fiat peso. The Second Philippine Republic under President José P. Laurel outlawed possession of guerrilla currency, and declared a monopoly on the issuance of money, so that anyone found to possess guerrilla notes could be arrested or even executed.
On the right is the stylized green seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines.
Negros - an island of medium size in the group of the Philippine Islands. Located in the center of the archipelago, at 10 degrees N, between 122 and 124 degrees E. It has an elongated shape, in length - more than 180 km. Area - 13,074.5 km². Included in the island group Visaya.
The mountainous areas are occupied by tropical forests, the lowlands are sown mainly by maize and industrial crops. Sugar production is well developed in most cities in the north. Silver and copper are mined in the mountains in the south.
