In the central part of the banknote against the background of geometric lines in three lines placed country motto "Unity, work, progress" in two official languages: UNITE - UBUMWE / TRAVAIL - IBIKORWA / PROGRES - AMAJAMBERE. In the upper part of the banknote inscription in French: BANQUE DE LA REPUBLIQUE DU BURUNDI, at the bottom - the language Rundi: IBANKI YA REPUBLIKA Y'UBURUNDI. Denomination numeral "10" is placed at the four corners ornamented field at the bottom left and top right.

In the central part of the banknote image of the emblem of the country.
The coat of arms of Burundi, adopted in 1966, consists of a shield surrounded by three spears. On the shield is the motto of the nation, as well as the head of a lion. Behind the shield there are three crossed traditional African spears. Under the shield the national motto of Burundi appears on a scroll: "Unité, Travail, Progrès" (French, "Unity, Work, Progress").
The lion's face on the board - a symbol of power. Lion (Ntare) was name of the first, the semi-legendary King of Burundi (c. XVII.). The same name were worn by the several subsequent kings. Three spears symbolize the three main ethnic groups in the country - a Hutu, Tutsi and Twa pygmies, generally speaking Kirundi, amid a contour map of the country. In the upper part of the banknote inscription in French : BANQUE DE LA REPUBLIQUE DU BURUNDI, at the bottom - the language Rundi: IBANKI YA REPUBLIKA Y'UBURUNDI. Below par in three lines on two official languages : DIX FRANCS / AMAFRANGA / CUMI. Right from the card - the signature of the bank manager and 2nd Vice - Governor. Denomination numeral "10" is placed in the lower left and upper right corners ornamented field. Serial number is located on the lower left and upper right parts of the bill .
